Studio one 4 presence xt. It's an interesting gui, but I can't see much attraction to this, £66!! For adding articulations, fret noise, key-clicks to samples you already have aquired elsewhere?I'm kinda bemused by this product, it's like a library feature that was knee capped from the inclusion of the Presence XT instrument for those who would want such a thing.I say this in the light that the main ommision from Presence XT is that of the inability to use normal wav files which could be easily mapped across the keyboard range just like many other sample players. On another note, I don't see the attraction of cluttering one's mix with what I'd consider additional artifacts in my music.

1.1. How Mixxx Works¶
Mixxx is different from typical music player applications because it playsmultiple audio files at the same time and has many features tomanipulate the playback of the audio files. This lets you creatively mixdifferent tracks together on the fly.
You can use Mixxx to preview the next track in headphones before the audiencehears it, also known as headphone cueing. This helps you choose a track thatis appropriate for the present moment and that will mix well into thecurrently playing track(s). To use headphone cueing, you need at least 2separate audio outputs, typically provided by a USB audio interface (also knownas a “sound card”, although most of them are not shaped like cards anymore).Mixxx can be used in two different ways for headphone cueing:
Internal Mixing
Mixxx plays multiple audio files on the computer at the sametime, mixes them together, and sends the mixed signal to one audio interfaceoutput. A separate signal is sent to another audio interface outputfor headphone cueing. Often a DJ controller is used with internal mixing toprovide easier control over Mixxx than a mouse and keyboard.

External Mixing
In this kind of setup, Mixxx plays multiple audio files on the computer atthe same time and sends each track to a separate audio interface output. Theaudio interface’s outputs are plugged into an external hardware mixer. Thehardware mixer performs the actual mixing of the audio signals. On thehardware mixer, there are separate outputs for the mixed signal to play tothe audience and for the DJ to use headphone cueing. External mixing istypically used with turntables and special vinylrecords to manipulate digital music files as if the music wason the vinyl records.
