Thanks to all of your help with alpha testing we just released Mixxx 1.12 Beta!
We still need your help though! We've got a ton of work to do before we can ship 1.12.0 final.
The plan is that the beta will be a rolling release that we update on a regular basis. You have three options to try out these builds:

• Download from the mixxx.org downloads page.
• Download builds uploaded by the build server directly.
• Ubuntu Only: Use our Beta PPA to stay up to date.

These build should work on:

• Ubuntu 14.04 (Trusty) and newer
• Mac OS X 10.5 through 10.10
• Windows XP through Windows 8

We need test results from EVERY OS version -- so if you are running a less common version we could especially use your help.
Note: You can run Mixxx 32-bit on a 64-bit version of Windows. You can't run a 64-bit version of Mixxx on a 32-bit version of Windows. If you are on 64-bit Windows, it would be helpful if you could test out both the 32-bit and 64-bit versions.
Please include the following information at minimum:

• Mixxx build file name you installed: (for example mixxx-1.12.0-alpha-1.12-git4688-debug-x86.exe). (please post the EXACT file name as it tells us specifically what version you are running -- every part is significant!).
• System Info (processor, RAM, graphics card, etc. -- provide as much or as little detail as you want)
• Windows: version AND service pack -- right-click My Computer and hit Properties. Example: Windows 7 Professional Service Pack 1
• Windows: 32-bit or 64-bit?
• Windows: Mixxx 32-bit or 64-bit build? (i.e. which you downloaded above)
• Windows: Did the installer succeed?
• OSX: Version and Architecture (Intel vs. PPC)
• Did Mixxx crash on start-up? (If so, how, can you repeat it, what error messages, etc.)
• Did Mixxx crash after start-up? (If so, how, can you repeat it, what error messages, etc.)

If you don't know what to check for, try answering the following debugging questions:

• Did MP3 files load and play?
• Did M4A/AAC files load and play?
• Did WAV files load and play?
• Did FLAC files load and play?
• Did OGG files load and play?
• Did Opus files load and play?
• Did RGB (GLSL) waveforms work?
• Did RGB (GL) waveforms work?
• Did Software waveforms work?
• Any corruption / glitching?

If a crash occurs -- you will be super-awesome if you include any (ideally all) of these:

• the Mixxx log file for the crash
• Windows Only: Download Dependency Walker and run its 'Profiler' on Mixxx. Instructions are here.

Mixxx has been accepted as a mentoring organization for Google Summer of Code 2020, a global program that aims to bring more student developers into the world of open source development.

We have prepared a list of GSoC 2020 Project Ideas for Mixxx and added it to our wiki, but we're always interested in new ideas. Taking a look at our GSoC advice page is recommended if you're planning to apply. The best way to get started is to participate in the Mixxx community, so have a look at our GitHub repository and consider making a small code contribution to show that you're able to familiarize yourself with our codebase.The application period is March 16 - 31, 2020.
