WineConf Call for Hosts

This is a call for proposals to host the next WineConf sometime this year. Ideally proposals would present;

  1. How to Download Wine on a Mac. RELATED: 5 Ways to Run Windows Software on a Mac There are several ways to get Wine on a Mac. The official project website at WineHQ now provides official builds of Wine for Mac OS X.
  2. Mar 05, 2017 Video learning. This video will show you how to install Wine on Mac OS. This software allow us to run file exe on Mac OS. Please like and subscribe my video.

Mar 29, 2020  Run Windows programs seamlessly on your Mac. Wine, which stands for Wine Is Not an Emulator, takes a different approach: since macOS is POSIX compliant, Wine translates the Windows API calls into POSIX calls in order to be understood by Apple’s operating system. The conversion is done on-the-fly and enables you to integrate Windows.

We'll need to choose a host relatively quickly as it does take time to plan and book the event. I'm hoping we can settle on a host by the end of February but ultimately that decision goes to the Wine Committee. Questions, comments, concerns can be posted on the WineConf mailing list. A draft of a guide to hosting has been started on the wiki [1]. Please take a look to get a sense of what is involved in hosting the conference.

Djay for windows has no artwork. The Wine development release 5.5 is now available.

What's new in this release:

  • Builtin libraries use the new UCRTBase C runtime.
  • Compatibility mode used when reporting Windows version.
  • Better support for debug information in PE files.
  • Support for linguistic case mappings.
  • More attributes supported in WebServices.
  • Various bug fixes.
