Alesis Vi25 Mac Garageband
My band is currently working on new material by sending files over the internet. We're all using GarageBand. I'm using an Alesis Strike Pro drum kit. I have it connected from the USB out on the module to the USB in on my MacBook. The MacBook knows something is connected, but GB doesn't seem to recognize it. What am I doing wrong? I also had a spare Alesis Multimix 8 USB 2.0 FX hanging around that my singer and I wanted to use for when we do acoustic gigs (just he and I). The Alesis has a direct USB line to hook directly up to a computer so I used my '14 Macbook Pro and ran it into Garageband to record. Jan 09, 2015 I just purchased a new QX49, but there was no software disc with the package. I'm sure I need drivers of some sort. Will I be able to use the unite with GarageBand? The first problem is that in order to hear any tracks I've already recorded (such as drums for instance) along with the TK I'm recording, I have to punch in both the Master to Control Room headphone switch (on far right lower right) and the Two Track to Control Room switch (in middle, lower right). However, the 2Tk to Control Room seems to create noise on the track. Is there anyway to hear the tracks already recorded and the one you're recoding w/o getting this noise?
The second problem is that I can get clean recorded tracks for the first few minutes that I'm on the MAC and Alesis, and then I start getting some noise after a little while, and can't seem to get rid of it.
The third problem is that I really have to crank the gains on the Alesis to really get any decent recording levels in Garageband, and even the ones I finally get are too low. I have all the things that should be set to CODEC set to that.
The fourth problem is latency by a few seconds. When I record my instrument straight into the MAC, I don't have a latency problem.

Alesis Vi25 Setup
I just bought an Alesis Multimix 8 USB FX to use with garageband 08 on mac. The Mac uses OS X 10.5.8 and fits all of the stated product specifications. The problem is that having set up the mixer in Audio MIDI setup and preferences in Garagband, the mixer does not seem to be synching properly with the mac, as it does not show 8 separate audio channels, only 2 channels (Left and Right stereo channels). This is the case in both garageband and Cubase LE, I have also tried the mixer with another mac using garageband 09 and had the same problem. I have spent a number of hours trying to find some advice on the internet and could not come across anything. Is there a way that I can get over these problems or is there a fault with the mixer?
